Services and Housing in the Province is a lifeline for people in crisis. Workers run 24/7 youth shelters, offer mental health counselling, help families find housing and stability, and provide addictions interventions. They save lives every day but they are in crisis too. Many work second jobs but still can’t pay their rent.
SHIP is a pillar of our community. They’re celebrated as a top employer. Workers should not be worried about having to turn to the same shelters they work out of, rely on food banks, or be forced to pay out of pocket once their meagre benefits run out.
SHIP workers are burnt out and broke. Tell SHIP to live their values and invest in their workers.
