Bill 124 took money out of your pockets right when the cost of living was skyrocketing. You were called heroes during the pandemic, but given 1% wage increases.

Workers in other sectors have received the wages that were stolen from them but we’re been ignored once again.

The Worth Fighting For campaign is demanding:

  • 6.5% retroactive catch-up increase applied to the grid
  • Funding increases from the province to protect against job loss and cuts to services

Governments have gotten away with underfunding our work because we have bargained as individual locals with individual employers. This campaign is aimed directly at the government as the funder, with coordinated cross-sectoral bargaining.

That’s how we are going to bring thousands of workers together from CUPE and OPSEU and create the power to win.
