York Pride Parade

The small-town Pride vibe returns to Main Street in celebration of 10 years of the York Pride Parade and 23 years of Pride events in York Region. This dazzling display of 2SLGBTQ+ brilliance showcases the beauty and strength in pride and self-expression, as we continue to show what community truly looks like.
As the biggest event of the York Pride Festival, all eyes will be on our 1,000 marchers as over 50 floats and groups take over Main Street. Expect all your Parade favourites, from the famous rumble of the motor bikes to the quintessential community groups, and the many wonders of our 2SLGBTQ+ communities.

It’s that time again! Time to celebrate who you are, with your community, at Pride Toronto’s 2023 Pride Parade. This impactful Festival weekend is a time for us to come together to not only celebrate how far we’ve come, but to also show the world that we’re here and our lives matter. With 100+ groups marching this year we’re grateful to see how much support our community has gained. From glittery costumes and drag queens, to dynamic performances and good music to get you dancing, we’re sure to make your 2023 Pride experience both exciting and memorable.
We offer 6 accessible risers/viewing stations alongside our Parade route. Please take note of the intersections below:
- St. Mary’s St. & Yonge St. – accessible riser
- Isabella St. & Yonge St. – accessible riser
- Breadalbane St. & Yonge St. – accessible riser
- Wood St. & Yonge St. – accessible riser
- Elm St. & Yonge St. – accessible riser
- Edward St. & Yonge St. – viewing station (ground level)
- We will also have free water being offered at the above mentioned intersections alongside Carlton St. & Yonge St.
Please remember to stay hydrated and plan ahead to bring anything necessary to keep you comfortable in the summer sun. Please bring water, sunscreen and food to get you through the day as you experience one of the biggest North American Pride Parades.

Calling all Dykes and Lesbians: come out for Pride Toronto’s annual Dyke March! From 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the intersection of Hayden St. and Church St. , enjoy speakers, performances and sign-making that really get you in the mood for a rally. At 2:00 pm we march, loud and proud, through the streets of Toronto. While this event is specifically for Dykes and Lesbian, allies are more welcome to join, however, when marching and rallying we do ask that allies leave space for folks who identify as Dyke or Lesbian to celebrate at the front!
At the end of the Dyke March, continue celebrating the Dyke and Lesbian communities with our Afterparty and Community Fair at the Garden Stage. Featuring Dyke and Lesbian performers and DJs, as well as space for Dykes and Lesbians to sell their art and community groups to promote their work, this is an excellent way to recognize all things Dyke and Lesbian!

Join us in celebrating the resilience, strength, and beauty of the Trans community at the largest Trans March in the world! This event is a powerful and important space for Trans individuals to gather and celebrate their identities while also raising awareness and fighting for Trans human rights.
The rally, featuring powerful speakers and performers, is a space for folks to gather and prepare for the march with sign-making and community-building activities. The rally starts at the intersection of Church St. and Hayden St.
During the march, we honour and center the experiences and struggles of Trans folks, reaffirming that their existence is valid, necessary, and deserving of respect and dignity. While allies are welcome to join, we ask that they respect the importance of this space and leave room for Trans folks to celebrate at the front of the march.
After the march, continue the celebration at our Trans Pride Afterparty at the Garden Stage! This grassroots event features an incredible lineup of Transgender performers and DJs, creating a space for Trans folks to dance, connect, and celebrate together. The Community Fair also provides an opportunity for Trans folks and community groups to sell their art and raise awareness for their agencies.

CUPE Ontario President, Fred Hahn will be on a panel at 1:15 – 2:15, to discuss Labour’s role in the advancement of 2SLGBTQIA+ rights and building inclusive workplaces, also involved in the planning and program of the Conference is Executive Board Member, and Trans Rights, and Social Justice Activist, Susan Gapka.
The moderator for the panel is Tania Liu, Union Organizer, United Food and Commercial Workers Canada, and the speakers on the panel with Fred are; JP Hornick, President, Ontario Public Service Employees Union and; Tarek Zeidan, Executive Director, Helem, and Pride 2023 International Grand Marshal.
