One of the most important contributions to an efficient Convention is the work carried out by the five Convention committees. You must be a registered delegate to Convention in order to serve on most of these committees. Some committees require you to attend pre-Convention meetings.

As outlined, there are a limited number of members per committee. If you wish to serve on a Convention committee, contact your local and ask that your name be submitted to the CUPE Ontario Office addressed to Candace Rennick via Stephanie Malinsky at [email protected] no later than March 1st.

The Division will be responsible for payment of expenses for the pre-Convention meetings, i.e. per diem ($70 full day; $35 half day), hotel accommodation, lost time and any necessary travel.

Committee Information:

Constitution committee: 

The Constitution committee meets prior to convention to make recommendations on all constitutional amendments submitted to CUPE Ontario.  The amendments and committee recommendations are presented at Convention based on the order of the day.  In order to participate as a member of the Constitution committee you must be a registered delegate to convention.  The Constitution committee is scheduled to meet in the CUPE Ontario office on April 20th and April 21st.

Resolutions committee:


The Resolutions committee meets prior to convention to make recommendations on all resolutions submitted to CUPE Ontario.  The resolutions are presented at Convention based on the order of the day.  In order to participate as a member of the resolutions committee you must be a registered delegate to convention.  The Resolutions committee is scheduled to meet in the CUPE Ontario office on April 23rd and April 24th.

Ways & Means Committee: 

The Ways & Means Committee prepares the proposed budget for the upcoming year along with the Secretary-Treasurer of CUPE Ontario.  In order to participate as a member of the Ways & Means committee you must be a registered delegate to convention.  The Ways & Means Committee is scheduled to meet in the CUPE Ontario office from April 27th through 29th.

Credentials Committee: 

The Credentials Committee helps to pack the convention kits and helps register delegates at the registration desk throughout convention.  In order to participate as a member of the Credentials committee you must be a registered delegate to convention.

Distribution Committee: 

The Distribution Committee distributes official Convention materials on the convention floor.  To serve on the Distribution Committee, you must be a Convention delegate or alternate.
