TORONTO, ON – Tomorrow at Queen’s Park, the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) will be making a significant statement regarding Bill 115 and the education minister’s threats to impose a December 31 deadline on bargaining.
CUPE National President Paul Moist will make the announcement at 2:00 p.m., together with CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn and Terri Preston, chair of CUPE’s Ontario School Board Coordinating Committee.
CUPE represents 55,000 support workers in public, Catholic, French and English boards across the province. These workers are the educational assistants, school secretaries, instructors, early childhood educators, community advisory staff, food service workers, library technicians, custodians and others who are the backbone of our education system.
