CUPE 4370 holds info picket to build support for developmental services

SARNIA, Ont. – Community Living Sarnia-Lambton employees, members of Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 4370, are inviting all parents, community members and allies to join an information picket on May 14, 2012, to advocate for adequate funding for people with developmental disabilities.

“CUPE 4370 members are committed to providing services to the people who rely on our supports, said CUPE 4370, President Brian Biggers. But chronic underfunding of the services, and the staff that deliver those services, presents major challenges. The focus of the information picket is to inform and engage the communities we serve – we must urge Sarnia and District Association for Community Living Management to negotiate a fair collective agreement so we can continue working together to secure new provincial resources to strengthen supports and services.”
