PETERBOROUGH, ON. – On Saturday, a coalition of Peterborough municipal workers will be busy lending a hand to their community. They will start the afternoon by delivering thousands of dollars worth of new toys to the Country 105 Christmas Toy Drive. Members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) will deliver the toys to Lansdowne Place Mall at 2:00 p.m.


Later in the day, CUPE members are sponsoring and serving an “Out of the Cold” community dinner, beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Stone School.


Both events will be attended by members and leaders from CUPE Local 126 (inside workers), Local 504 (outside workers) and 1883 (library workers), as well as by Candace Rennick, Secretary-Treasurer of CUPE Ontario.
