Pledge to Protect Public Services 2026

As a current municipal politician and a potential candidate for elected office in the 2026 Ontario municipal election, I believe in strong public services, good jobs, and inclusive communities. I recognize that municipal and school board decisions directly impact the everyday lives of working people and that public services are the foundation of safe, healthy, and thriving communities.
If elected, I pledge to:

Protect Public Services

Oppose the privatization, contracting out, or erosion of public services. I support publicly delivered, transparent, and accountable services that prioritize people—not profits.

Support Fair Wages & Decent Work

Support fair wages, benefits, job security, and safe working conditions for all municipal workers, including those in front-line, part-time, and precarious roles.

Respect Collective Bargaining and Labour Rights

Uphold the rights of workers to organize, bargain collectively, and take job action. I will not support legislation or local decisions that undermine these rights.

Advance Equity, Inclusion, and Reconciliation

Champion policies that promote racial, economic, and gender equity, support 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion, and advancetruth and reconciliation with Indigenous communities.

Promote Transparency and Community Engagement

Commit to open, democratic, and accountable governance. I will actively engage with residents, unions,community groups and make decisions in the public interest. Champion Public Investment and Progressive Advocacy Advocate for increased provincial funding for municipalities and support provincial investment to build equitable,well-funded public services.
