Stand up for the people who “make Carleton work” as they stand up for pensions!

Staff at Carleton University are on strike to protect their pensions against demands that could make their retirement precarious and uncertain.

Support Carleton workers’ fight for a secure and decent pension by signing the petition letter to Carleton President Alastair Summerlee.

Dear President Summerlee,

I’m writing in support of Carleton University’s administrative, technical and library staff, skilled and dedicated workers who are currently on strike to defend their pension rights.

Pensions are not a gift from employers; they represent employees’ deferred wages. As their pensions come under increasing threat, workers must stand up to protect what they’ve earned throughout their working lives.

In Canada and around the world, workers face cuts to their pensions – and sometimes the complete collapse of their plans. Carleton’s staff are playing a vital role in the wider fight to guarantee dignity in retirement for all Canadians.

I’m proud to stand with Carleton workers in their fight to preserve decent, secure pensions. I urge Carleton’s administration to stop minimizing and misrepresenting workers’ concerns and to negotiate a fair agreement that ensures their retirement future.

In solidarity with CUPE 2424,
