NORTH BAY, ON – The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) has learned that cuts are coming to a key program at North Bay Regional Health Center (NBRHC) that vulnerable individuals rely on.

Michael Hurley president of CUPE’s Ontario Council of Hospital Unions (OCHU/CUPE) will provide details and outline the impacts of the cut at a media conference Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the CUPE area office located at 120 Lakeshore Dr.

The provincial budget released by Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli in April 2019, funded hospitals well below their inflationary costs. Based on that level of funding, CUPE projects that by 2021-2022 the North Bay regional hospital will see a (real) cut in provincial funding of $19.2 million.
