(Whitby, ON) <\/strong>300 membres \u00e0 temps plein de la section locale 53 du Syndicat canadien de la fonction publique (SCFP), les travailleurs ext\u00e9rieurs municipaux de la Ville de Whitby, ont ratifi\u00e9 une nouvelle convention collective, mettant ainsi fin \u00e0 une gr\u00e8ve qui avait d\u00e9but\u00e9 le 14 octobre.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Ce fut une longue gr\u00e8ve au cours de laquelle, jour apr\u00e8s jour, nous avons envoy\u00e9 \u00e0 l’employeur le message que son offre initiale n’\u00e9tait tout simplement pas assez bonne, \u00bb a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Rob Radford, pr\u00e9sident de la section locale 53 du SCFP. \u00ab Et cela se voit dans le fait que ce que les membres ont ratifi\u00e9 hier est une nette am\u00e9lioration par rapport \u00e0 l’offre initiale de l’employeur. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Les 300 travailleurs municipaux \u00e0 temps plein \u00e9taient sur la sellette en raison de l’insistance de l’employeur sur un nombre ind\u00e9fini d’affectations temporaires pour les membres, et sur des horaires de travail o\u00f9 les travailleurs seraient disponibles sur une plus longue p\u00e9riode, ce qui se traduirait par des semaines de travail comprim\u00e9es et des \u00e9quipes tournantes. Malheureusement, selon M. Radford, le syndicat n’a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 en mesure de repousser certaines de ces concessions au cours des n\u00e9gociations.<\/p>\n

\u00ab La r\u00e9alit\u00e9 est que cette entente n’est pas parfaite, pour en dire le moindre, \u00bb a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 M. Radford. \u00ab Il subsistera d’importants probl\u00e8mes de planification et d’horaires pour les nouveaux employ\u00e9s. Quant aux employ\u00e9s actuels qui sont promus ou transf\u00e9r\u00e9s, ils seront soumis aux nouvelles dispositions contractuelles en mati\u00e8re d’horaires et de planification. Ce que je peux dire d\u00e8s \u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, c’est que l’employeur est pr\u00e9venu. Nous ferons campagne tout au long de la dur\u00e9e de ce contrat et attirerons l’attention sur les cons\u00e9quences qu’il pourrait avoir pour nos membres. Et nous serons pr\u00eats pour le prochain cycle de n\u00e9gociations. \u00bb<\/p>\n
