En vertu des lois du travail de l\u2019Ontario, les droits des employ\u00e9s d\u2019h\u00f4pitaux de refuser un travail dangereux sont tr\u00e8s limit\u00e9s. Ils n\u2019ont pas le droit l\u00e9gal de gr\u00e8ve contrairement aux autres travailleurs.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Pourquoi les employ\u00e9es des h\u00f4pitaux, \u00e0 pr\u00e9dominance f\u00e9minine, qui prennent les devants pour offrir des soins de qualit\u00e9 avec des ressources limit\u00e9es et dont certaines sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 atteintes de la maladie COVID-19, sont-elles si mal trait\u00e9es par ce gouvernement? \u00bb, se demande Michael Hurley. \u00ab D\u2019abord, le gouvernement de l\u2019Ontario n\u2019a pas command\u00e9 suffisamment de masques, de masques faciaux et de gants, ensuite il a r\u00e9duit sa norme de protection des employ\u00e9s de la sant\u00e9 pour justifier sa p\u00e9nurie d\u2019approvisionnement, et enfin il s\u2019est accord\u00e9 de vastes pouvoirs pour \u00e9liminer de nombreux droits des employ\u00e9s en milieu de travail sans un mot de consultation. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Michael Hurley rappelle au gouvernement que malgr\u00e9 les circonstances extraordinaires en Ontario et partout dans le monde, il n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 difficile de transf\u00e9rer des employ\u00e9s des cliniques ferm\u00e9es et des centres de chirurgie ambulatoire aux centres de d\u00e9pistage et \u00e0 d\u2019autres services.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Nous pourrions certainement aider \u00e0 surmonter de tels probl\u00e8mes. Les employ\u00e9s d\u2019h\u00f4pitaux sont pr\u00e9sents et continueront d\u2019aider les Ontariens alors que la pand\u00e9mie continue de s\u2019intensifier. La population peut compter sur nous \u00bb, a-t-il dit. \u00ab Mais si nos membres sont pr\u00eats \u00e0 se sacrifier pour offrir des soins de grande qualit\u00e9, ils m\u00e9ritent d\u2019\u00eatre consult\u00e9s sur les changements n\u00e9cessaires au travail pour r\u00e9pondre aux situations d\u2019urgence, et cela n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 fait. Cet ordre du gouvernement est inutile, irrespectueux et coercitif. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Michael Hurley exhorte le gouvernement \u00e0 utiliser ses pouvoirs d\u2019urgence pour ordonner aux entreprises ontariennes de produire des masques et des respirateurs, qui sont en p\u00e9nurie. Ces deux \u00e9quipements seront n\u00e9cessaires pour prot\u00e9ger les employ\u00e9s de la sant\u00e9 contre les infections et les patients les plus malades atteints de la COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Nos membres veulent se concentrer sur les soins, et ne veulent pas \u00eatre distraits. Nous demandons au gouvernement de veiller \u00e0 laisser cet ordre expirer comme pr\u00e9vu.
