Le local \u00e9tait vide lors de la \u00ab visite \u00bb des repr\u00e9sentants de l\u2019Universit\u00e9. \u00c0 leur retour, des membres du SCFP 3913 (qui repr\u00e9sente les assistants d\u2019enseignement et les charg\u00e9s de cours) ont trouv\u00e9 sur la porte un mot expliquant qu\u2019on avait retir\u00e9 les affiches. \u00ab C\u2019est incompr\u00e9hensible, dit la pr\u00e9sidente de la section locale, Ashley Wilson. Ces affiches pr\u00e9sentaient simplement nos revendications dans les n\u00e9gociations : l\u2019all\u00e8gement des droits de scolarit\u00e9, la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 d\u2019emploi, des avantages sociaux. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Le SCFP 3913 est en n\u00e9gociation avec l\u2019Universit\u00e9 depuis le mois de septembre. R\u00e9alis\u00e9es pour une manifestation en novembre, les affiches en question se trouvaient dans les fen\u00eatres du local depuis plus d\u2019un mois. \u00ab Nous les y avons mises pour que les \u00e9tudiants puissent les voir de l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur, explique Mme Wilson. Pendant un mois, personne n\u2019a sembl\u00e9 s\u2019en offusquer, mais il semble que ce ne soit plus le cas \u00e0 l\u2019approche des s\u00e9ances de conciliation. L\u2019employeur ne peut pas tenter ainsi de b\u00e2illonner les travailleurs et de r\u00e9primer notre droit de parler des enjeux de la n\u00e9gociation\u2009; c\u2019est une tactique de peur tout \u00e0 fait inacceptable. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Le syndicat et l\u2019administration universitaire se rencontreront en pr\u00e9sence d\u2019un conciliateur provincial les 17, 18 et 19 janvier prochains. Les points litigieux concernent effectivement l\u2019all\u00e8gement des droits de scolarit\u00e9, la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 d\u2019emploi et les avantages sociaux, mais il y en a d\u2019autres. Mme Wilson estime que l\u2019Universit\u00e9 a adopt\u00e9 une position plus agressive que par le pass\u00e9. L\u2019employeur r\u00e9clame plusieurs concessions aux assistants d\u2019enseignement et aux charg\u00e9s de cours, m\u00eame si l\u2019institution a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 un exc\u00e9dent de 66 millions de dollars au dernier exercice financier. La hausse des droits de scolarit\u00e9 efface l\u2019essentiel des augmentations de salaire que re\u00e7oivent ces travailleurs. En outre, ceux-ci doivent repostuler jusqu\u2019\u00e0 trois fois l\u2019an pour conserver leur poste. Leurs avantages sociaux sont minimes.<\/p>\n<p>En f\u00e9vrier 2016, le magazine Forbes attribuait \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Guelph la 6e place \u00e0 son palmar\u00e8s des meilleurs employeurs. \u00ab Il est important que les \u00e9tudiants soient au fait de nos conditions de travail, conclut Mme Wilson, parce que celles-ci sont aussi leurs conditions d\u2019apprentissage. \u00c0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Guelph, nos conditions de travail se r\u00e9sument \u00e0 un salaire de mis\u00e8re sans s\u00e9curit\u00e9 d\u2019emploi et presque pas d\u2019avantages sociaux.
