En tant que militant local, Fred a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9, militant en sant\u00e9 et s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et n\u00e9gociateur sur les questions d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9 salariale et contractuelles. Apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9lu pr\u00e9sident de la section locale\u00a02191 du SCFP, Fred a dirig\u00e9 sa section locale dans le cadre d\u2019une gr\u00e8ve r\u00e9ussie qui a dur\u00e9 trois\u00a0mois et qui a permis de repousser une longue liste de concessions.<\/p>\n

\u00c9lu au Conseil ex\u00e9cutif du SCFP-Ontario en 1998, Fred a \u00e9t\u00e9 membre de nombreux comit\u00e9s provinciaux et nationaux du SCFP, dont le Comit\u00e9 national du triangle rose et le Comit\u00e9 de coordination des travailleurs des services sociaux de l\u2019Ontario. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9lu secr\u00e9taire-tr\u00e9sorier du SCFP-Ontario en 2006, dirigeant le syndicat tout au long du processus d\u2019adoption d\u2019un mod\u00e8le de cotisations progressiste bas\u00e9 sur un pourcentage. En 2010, Fred a \u00e9crit une page d\u2019histoire lorsqu\u2019il a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9lu pr\u00e9sident du SCFP-Ontario, devenant la premi\u00e8re personne LGBTA \u00e9lue pour diriger le plus important syndicat de la province.<\/p>\n

De plus, Fred est un vice-pr\u00e9sident g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du Conseil ex\u00e9cutif national du SCFP et un vice-pr\u00e9sident de la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration du travail de l\u2019Ontario.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=\u00a0\u00bb25px\u00a0\u00bb]

C\u2019est une repr\u00e9sentante progressiste pour le changement et l\u2019inclusion au sein du SCFP, au sein du mouvement syndical et dans la collectivit\u00e9 en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Yolanda a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 des programmes solides de lutte contre le racisme et des caucus pour les travailleurs de couleur au sein des secteurs du SCFP partout au Canada et elle a toujours gard\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9 en mati\u00e8re d\u2019emploi au premier\u00a0plan dans son esprit. Occupant depuis plus de 14\u00a0ans le poste de vice-pr\u00e9sidente \u00e0 la diversit\u00e9 au sein du Conseil ex\u00e9cutif national du SCFP et celui de deuxi\u00e8me\u00a0vice-pr\u00e9sidente du SCFP-Ontario depuis plus de 11\u00a0ans, Yolanda a am\u00e9lior\u00e9 la participation des femmes et des groupes qui revendiquent l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 dans l\u2019ensemble du syndicat.<\/p>\n

Depuis 2013, Yolanda est la pr\u00e9sidente de la Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, \u00e9tant une ardente d\u00e9fenseure des travailleurs noirs au sein du mouvement syndical et incitant les travailleurs syndiqu\u00e9s \u00e0 \u00eatre plus pertinents quant aux besoins et aux aspirations des travailleurs noirs.<\/p>\n

En tant que vice-pr\u00e9sidente \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 de la section locale\u00a04400 du SCFP (qui repr\u00e9sente 13\u00a0000\u00a0travailleurs de l\u2019\u00e9ducation de Toronto), Yolanda avait une exp\u00e9rience directe des luttes des travailleurs, particuli\u00e8rement les travailleurs \u00e0 temps partiel, pour de meilleurs salaires et avantages sociaux, de bonnes conditions de travail et des services publics forts.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
