WINDSOR, Ont. – The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 4580, the Graduate Assistants and Teaching Assistants at the University of Windsor, have ratified their new collective agreement by an overwhelming majority.

“We are pleased with the new agreement,” said CUPE national representative Joel Bentley. “Neither the university nor the members wanted a strike, and with this agreement, we have been able to avoid one.”

“Here is a great example of how a university and our CUPE local worked together finding solutions at the bargaining table that removed all concessions,” said Sid Ryan, president of CUPE Ontario. “The workers, the university and the students have been well served by these developments.”
