TORONTO, ON – Fred Hahn, president of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Ontario, will join local members at an information picket outside the first Ontario Liberal leadership debate in Ingersoll, Ont. The picket, which will begin in advance of the 1:00 debate on Saturday, will urge people attending the debate, and all members of the public, to press the government to repeal Bill 115 and back off from proposed legislation that attacks free collective bargaining rights.


Bill 115, which covers all workers in the school sector, gave the Minister of Education the power to override collective bargaining and impose a contract as early as December 31.
