OTTAWA, Ont. – A tentative agreement was reached early this morning between management negotiators and representatives of Local 1521-01 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), representing 87 community outreach, case management workers and support staff at the Ottawa branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association, averting a strike or lockout.

“Our negotiating team will be recommending this tentative agreement for approval by the membership,” said Jean-Marc Bézaire, CUPE national representative. Details of the agreement will not be released until it has been presented to members of CUPE 1521-01 for a ratification vote next week.
