With the successful nominations of Henry Bosch and Nigel Moses, there are now seven CUPE

Ontario members running as NDP candidates in the Ontario provincial election on October 10.

Bosch, a local paramedic who is vice-president of the Canadian Union of Public Employees

(CUPE) 1019, was elected as the NDP candidate in the riding of St. Catharines on August 22. He

has been a member of a number of unions, is a past member of the CUPE Ontario Executive

Board and has been a member of the St. Catharine’s Transit Commission Board.

“I promise to make Queen’s Park accountable for everything that happens in St. Catharines and

make sure what St. Catharines gets is what it needs,” Bosch said. In an article on his nomination,

the St. Catharines Standard paid tribute to the fact that Bosch ran for mayor of the Garden City

and has assisted local councillors on their campaigns. He has also lobbied government on health

care issues.

On the same evening, Nigel Moses gave a stirring speech and was rewarded with the NDP

nomination for the riding of Whitby Oshawa. Moses, who is a member of CUPE 3902 at the

University of Toronto, was lauded by CUPE Ontario President and fellow NDP candidate Sid

Ryan at the meeting. “Nigel knows the issues that working families face and he’s going to make

sure that the values and principles that CUPE members fight for guide his work as the next MPP

for Whitby Oshawa.”

CUPE Ontario congratulates all CUPE candidates including Henri Giroux (North Bay), John

Grima (Essex), Pauline Kuhlmann (Leeds-Grenville), Antoni Shelton (York West); Sid Ryan

(Oshawa), Bosch and Moses for running and bringing new energy and members to their

respective ridings.

PLEASE consider donating to these campaigns and volunteering your time to get these CUPE

members elected. They are fighting for the issues most important to CUPE members, their

families and their communities. Here is the full list of CUPE candidates and their contact
