Union leaders from Ontario’s two largest universities will be joined by
CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn and OCUFA President Kate Lawson

TORONTO, Ont. – Officials from Locals 3902 and 3903 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) will update media with respect to the status of their current collective bargaining with their respective employers, University of Toronto and York University.

Both local unions have been engaged in bargaining for several months. CUPE 3902 will be in a legal strike/lockout position on Thursday, February 26, while CUPE 3903 will be in a legal strike/lockout position on Tuesday, March 3.

The press conference will take place Tuesday, February 24, at 10:00 a.m. in the Media Studio of Queen’s Park in Toronto.

Erin Black, Chair of CUPE 3902 (University of Toronto Contract Academic Staff) and Faiz Ahmed, Chair of CUPE 3903 (York University contract faculty, teaching, graduate and research assistants) will be joined by Fred Hahn, President of CUPE Ontario and Kate Lawson, President of the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA).
