Hamilton workers are among the more than 220 Canadian Hearing Society employees across the province that walked off the job this week after contract talks came to a halt.

Members from Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 2073, which represents the staff, joined the picket line Friday afternoon outside the Hamilton office — where approximately 10 staff work — on Hunter Street East.

The union’s national representative says bargaining broke down over two main issues — wages and sick-leave benefits.
