National Day of Action on September 15th, 2012

Events in Kingston, Kitchener, Sudbury, Thunder Bay and Toronto

Federally, provincially and municipally, governments are implementing deep austerity measures and cuts to vital public services such as food and water safety, healthcare and Employment Insurance that our communities rely upon for their well-being.

On September 15th 2012, the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and community/labour allies are organizing a National Day of Action to build resistance against this damaging austerity agenda.

CUPE Ontario will join PSAC and other allies in supporting numerous actions across the province including convening a “People’s Court” in Toronto at 1pm at the Toronto Court House (361 University Ave. @ Armoury St.). This mock trial will place the austerity agenda, including its leaders Harper, Hudak, McGuinty and Ford on trial for their injustices against the people.  CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn will be ‘presenting testimony’ at the event.
